St. Sava Slava Celebration; Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten

Celebrating St. Sava Slava at St. Sava Academy Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten

St. Sava Academy joyfully celebrated St. Sava Slava with our Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students, families, clergy, and teachers coming together to honor the life and legacy of Saint Sava, the founder of Serbian education and spirituality.

The event beautifully reflected our academy’s mission — combining faith, education, culture, and community in a warm and joyful environment for our youngest students.

A Special Program Prepared by Our Youngest Students

Our Preschool and Pre-K students proudly presented a heartwarming program including:

• Recitations dedicated to Saint Sava
• Winter-themed songs and performances
• Traditional and cultural pieces in Serbian, Russian, and English
• Musical performances celebrating childhood, winter, and community

The celebration also included opening remarks, blessings, and the traditional blessing of the Slava bread, reminding us of the spiritual roots of this important day.

Watching our youngest students sing and recite with confidence and joy reminded us how important it is to pass on traditions and values from an early age.

Saint Sava

Saint Sava is more than a historical figure — he is a symbol of education, unity, faith, and service to others.

From Saint Sava, children and adults alike can learn:

• The importance of education and knowledge
• Respect for faith and tradition
• Service and care for community
• Kindness, humility, and unity

Celebrating St. Sava teaches our children that learning and spirituality go hand in hand, helping them grow not only academically but also morally and emotionally.

Gratitude to Our Teachers and Staff

A heartfelt thank you to all our teachers and staff, whose dedication and countless hours of preparation made this celebration unforgettable.

Their work goes far beyond the classroom — they help nurture confidence, culture, and character in every child.

We are deeply grateful for their commitment to our students and families.

Capturing Beautiful Memories

We are also incredibly thankful to our professional photographer, who beautifully captured the joy and spirit of the day.

Special thanks to Sanja Jankovic for the wonderful photos that allow families to relive these precious moments.

Building Tradition for Future Generations

Celebrations like St. Sava Slava remind us why community and tradition are so important for our children growing up far from their homeland. Through programs like this, we ensure that culture, language, and faith continue to live on in future generations.

We are already looking forward to next year’s celebration and many more moments of learning and joy together.
