First Day of School at St. Sava Academy

Launching the 2025–26 Academic School Year

The start of a new school year is always filled with excitement, and this year was no exception at St. Sava Academy. On the opening day of the 2025–26 Academic School Year, our community came together to welcome back students, parents, and teachers, while also extending a warm greeting to the many new families joining our school.

This year marks a historic milestone for St. Sava Academy, with a record enrollment of 202 students. The growth of our Academy is a testament to the dedication of our families, the leadership of our Board, and the blessings of God that continue to guide our mission.

The morning began with words of welcome from Dr. Don Hendricks, Ed.D., Interim Principal of St. Sava Academy, joined by Peter Vezmar, Interim President of the Board of Trustees, and Samantha Lazic, Board Member. Their encouragement set the tone for a year focused on academic achievement, faith, and community.

As is tradition, the Cathedral clergy led the blessing of water (sveti vodicu), offering prayers for our students, teachers, and classrooms. This spiritual beginning reminded us that every new school year is not only a time for learning but also a time to grow in faith.

We are especially grateful to Zora Goljić for capturing the joy and energy of the day through her beautiful photography. These images will serve as a lasting reminder of this special beginning.

As our students embark on this academic journey, we pray that God grants them wisdom, strength, and joy in their studies. May the 2025–26 school year be one of growth, success, and blessings for the entire St. Sava Academy family.
