Our Mission: Improving Our Students’ Daily Experience
At Saint Sava Academy, we believe that providing a nurturing and enriching environment is essential to our students’ academic and personal growth. That is why this year’s 2nd Annual Beneficiary Event, held on Monday, April 28, focused on raising funds for two critical school improvement projects:
- Renovating the student bathrooms
- Replacing the aging school playground
Both initiatives aim to improve our students’ daily experience at school, offering cleaner, safer, and more inspiring spaces for learning and play. With this mission in mind, we invited our community to come together in support of a shared goal: building a brighter future for our children.
The Event: A Beautiful Evening at Topaz Café
The fundraiser took place at the elegant Topaz Café in Burr Ridge, beginning at 6:30 PM. Guests arrived in cocktail attire, setting a festive and refined tone for the evening. The event was open to all—parents, extended family, and friends—bringing together a dynamic and passionate group of supporters.
To ensure everyone could participate, babysitting services were made available from 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM at the school, allowing parents to enjoy the evening knowing their children were safely cared for. We thank those who took advantage of this thoughtful service and helped make it a smooth experience for all.
The evening was filled with heartfelt moments, community spirit, and inspiring conversation. Guests enjoyed fine food and drinks, watched presentations about the school’s progress, and most importantly, learned how their support would directly impact students’ lives.

A Huge Success: What We Achieved Together
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our donors, sponsors, and attendees, we are thrilled to announce that the event raised a net profit of $36,315.88.
These funds are already being put to work:
- We are actively working with licensed plumbers to determine the best solutions for renovating the student bathrooms, with plans already in motion.
- We are exploring various playground replacement options, aiming to install a safer, more engaging, and developmentally appropriate space for our children.
While this amount marks a significant step toward completing both projects, donations are still being accepted to fully fund these important upgrades. Every dollar makes a direct impact and brings us closer to realizing our goal.
